Wiki-TEKA

Ovens

- A class:

Teka ovens that incorporate the inner door Techno Clean 2005 get the most efficient energy class ( A class), consuming less than 800 W.

- Airtight chamber:

Safety System of the ovens with the new inner door S05 - Techno Clean-. In the models with 3 glazed door, an airtight chamber is added to the open chamber system, which isolates the outer crystal inside the oven.

- Analogue timer:

Teka analogue timers are of two types: stop programmers and start and stop. Stop programmers allow you to cook for a time previously selected (programming of length of cooking or cooking time) and once elapsed, a beep sounds and the oven stops heating. In the start and stop programme, both the beginning and length of cooking can be programmed. Both types of analogue timers can work manually or be programmed, programming the beginning and length of cooking. Some of them have an elegant sphere illuminated in orange.

- Automatic security disconnection:

HX 860 disconnects after 6 hours of continued use.

- Automatic temperature setting:

The HA 890/C oven has a pre-selection of temperature according to the selected function. For example: If you select grill+ lower heating element, the icon of cooking function selected will illuminate in red and a recommended temperature of 170º C will appear in the display, however you can modify the temperature with great precision (electronic control of temperature) to whichever temperature you require.

- Catalytic panels:

The self-cleaning catalytic panels of ceramic enamel with catalyst particles have a rough and porous surface (rough finish). The panels absorb the grease. Once the cooking is over, the oven is connected for an hour at a maximum temperature of 250 º C to self-clean. If there are still traces of food after the catalysis, the panels are easily removable and washable with soapy water.

- Cold door:

All Teka ovens are equipped with a double or triple glass system, having one or two low emissive or thermo reflective panels depending on the model, which keeps the outer temperature of the door below the limits specified by the European Security Norm EN-60335-2-6 in its most restrictive section 11.102 . Thanks to the cold door, losses of unnecessary heat are avoided (energy saving) and it is safer (the risk of burns is reduced). All Teka ovens incorporate the new Techno Clean inner door (airtight chamber and open chamber), enabling a reduction by 15% of the temperature in the airtight chamber.

- Compact ovens:

45 cm ovens and 46 gross litres which allow more space in the kitchen. Teka has a complete range of compact ovens and microwaves which adapt to the kitchens and current needs of the families and which can be combined turning out countless different configurations.

- Cooking functions:

Teka ovens offer a wide range of cooking functions with 3 function ovens (static or radiation), with 5 and 7 function ovens ( Basic multifunction) and with 8, 9 and10 functions (Total multifunction). Multifunction ovens incorporate an inner fan. This way, they are more efficient than the traditional static ovens and consume less energy.

- Cooking column:

A system of vertical installation of oven and microwave, integrated in an single piece of furniture, creating a cooking set. Teka has 3 distinct types of columns: a) flat design columns, b) structural columns and c) Touch control columns. In the columns, we emphasise the design and the combination of ovens and microwaves, creating attractive kitchen atmospheres.

- Crystal clean:

Crystal clean enamel is a special, low porous Teka covering, which is characterised by its non-stick surface. As it is a flat and shiny surface, foods do not stick. Furthermore, it is resistant to abrasive products ( ketchup, etc) , to chemical damage, to knocks and to high temperatures. Furthermore, cleaning it is easy once cooking is over. Crystal clean Enamel has AA class of resistance against acid and chemical attacks. Crystal clean has the following advantages with respect to catalytic panels: longer useful life ( catalytic panels get saturated after a certain time) and energy saving because you do not have to connect the oven at maximum temperature for one hour. Teka incorporates as standard the trays with crystal clean enamel in all the models.

- Glass inner door:

The new Teka ovens incorporate a totally flat glass inner door with an attractive design. The inner door is made of tempered glass of high resistance. The Techno Clean 2005 inner door can be used as a leanable surface and can be cleaned easily. The inner glass is easily removable without tools. All the models which have the new inner door reach A Class of energetic efficiency, apart from fulfilling with the most restrictive section ( 11.102) of the Norm of Security of Appliances ( UNE- EN 60335), regarding door temperatures.

- Chromed supports:

Non sliding chromed supports. They are made of chrome to prevent rusting and they move easily. The chromed supports of Teka have tray stop system included. Teka offers optionally a kit of 3 telescopic tray guides which can be mounted in all the models with chromed supports.

- Defrost:

Defrost is done through short, even cycles of hot air in 2 levels: HI or high level( 45º C) for meats in general and LO or Low level ( 35º) for fishes, pastries and bread. The heating elements of the HA 890/C oven work at a low intensity, heating gently and the fan moves the air inside the oven defrosting the food without cooking it. In the rest of the models with this function, the fan moves the air inside the oven but there is no heat contribution.

- Digital timer:

Teka has exclusively developed digital programmers of 3 and 5 buttons with special functions. For example, HA-840 has the following functions: Fast heating function, Safety block, Programming the length and end of cooking, delay programming, alarm, luminous indicator of working and progress of the inner temperature shown in the display (this last function will let the user know what specific percentage of the programmed temperature has been reached inside the oven), residual heat indicator and indicator of remaining cooking time in the display.

- Drop down Grill:

The drop down grill makes cleaning the upper heating element of the oven easier. It lets to set free the anchoring twisting easily a screw until going down the heating element of the grill as much as possible. The fastening system guarantees it remains horizontal. Important: Wait for the oven to cool cleaning the upper part of the oven.

- Ease of cleaning:

Tub Radius of the big ovens, smooth surfaces without angles or critical points of dirt accumulation, free of joints and screws. Edge not seen of union of the mouthpiece with the housing. Dismountable chromed supports. Everything in Teka ovens has been designed to make cleaning easier.

- Electronic control of temperature:

Ovens with electronic control of temperature are able to control the temperature with more accuracy and precision than a traditional oven. Furthermore, electronic control ovens consume less energy and are ideal for preparing delicate dishes such as vol- au-vents or other puff pastries, soufflés, yoghourts, etc.

- Gas escape system:

The gas escape system quickly removes gases and vapours generated during the cooking inside the oven, thereby protecting nearby cupboards etc. There are 3 evacuation systems: integrated in the handle, integrated in the door, integrated in the door and through the vault. The models which do not incorporate the cooling system, have the escape outlet system integrated in the handle or in the door.

- Traditional fan cooking:

Suitable for roasts and pastries. The fan the heat evenly inside the oven, reducing the time and cooking temperature. Recommended temperature: 160º C-200º C.

- Fast heating function:

This function uses 3100 W simultaneously from the upper and back heating elements, together with the fan, to reach the temperature selected up to 60% earlier than without this function. Once the selected temperature has been reached, the oven passes automatically to the indicated mode in the function selector. In the models with the new digital timer RED T5 e.g. HA-840, we can activate this function manually adding 1450 extra Watts of heating power.

- Fingerprint proof:

A special treatment applied to the stainless steel surfaces of the home appliances, creating a fine film which prevents fingerprints and grease spoiling the appearance of the appliance. The fingerprint proof treatment also makes cleaning easier. Teka uses fingerprint proof stainless steel of the same type in all the home appliances, making it one of the most important characteristics of the brand.

- Forced ventilation:

The ovens with air or fumes escape outlet have a fan situated in the back of the oven. Thanks to the fan, a current of air is created which pushes steam or fumes outside. Teka forced ventilation combines with the Mix Chamber system (MCS) of the dynamic cooling system of the oven.

- Fronts:

Flat fronts, stainless steel fronts, aluminium fronts, stainless steel fronts with embossed plate, enamelled fronts, crystal panels, crystal- stainless panels, etc. Teka has many different designs.

- Gas ovens:

Special type of ovens of great capacity. Ideal for pizzas, roasts, etc. Especially for pizzerias and restaurants. They work with different types of gases: propane, natural and butane. The gas combustion spreads the heat in form of vapour inside the oven. They incorporate an electric grill and thermocouple security system.

- Grease filters:

Metal grids placed in some models which retain the grease particles preventing them from coming back to the cavity. Thanks to the grease filters, the air which comes back from the Turbo is cleaner, less smelly and reduces the concentration of grease which gets out of the ventilation air. Unlike other filters of other trademarks placed in the fumes outlet, grease does not recirculate inside the oven. Filters are exposed and dismountable and when they get dirty they can be dishwashed.

- Grids:

Utensil to place moulds and recipients. In the roasts, we must place the tray underneath to collect the juices. There are two types of grids: reinforced grids and Standard grids. The reinforced grids have a tray stop system, thanks to which more than half of the grid remains accessible out of the oven without tipping, which leaves the hands free thereby avoiding spills.

- Grill:

Grating and superficial roasting. It allows browning from the upper part of the oven without affecting the inside of the food. Ideal for flat pieces such as steak, rips or chops, fish, toast, etc. The central part of the grill heating element can be heated independently allowing greater flexibility when grilling meats of medium-low thickness (chops, lamb, beefsteaks, hamburgers, etc), directly on the grid, placing the tray underneath to collect juices. Recommended Temperature: 170º C-220º C.

- Grill protector:

The grill protector is an element which helps to reduce the temperature in the door and avoids contact with the heating element.

- Handles:

Handles are more and more important aesthetically. Handles of the HA series are the same as our integrated dishwashers have. Teka has a wide variety of handles: aluminium handles, hidden handles, stainless steel handles, curved handles, bow shape handles, tubular handles, etc. Furthermore, some Teka models have the outlet integrated in the handle.

- Independent ovens:

Teka has a great range of independent ovens, which can be installed in column or undermounted. The design of the independent Teka ovens is appropriate for their installation both independently or in cooking columns combining them with our microwaves. Furthermore, it is possible to install them under any of our hobs with knobs or Touch Control. The independent ovens have the advantage that they can be replaced in any moment easily.

- Knobs:

Teka has a great variety of knobs and buttons in the control zone: rectangular buttons in line with the current trends of modern and attractive design, as well as robust, pop in-up knobs, chromed knobs in line with our gas hobs, metallic knobs, rustic knobs, white knobs, black knobs, etc.

- Lighting:

Teka ovens incorporate an easily replaceable 25 W bulb which provides optimal lighting inside the oven. Some Teka models incorporate two 25 W lamps (double lateral lighting). The bulbs are placed to allow an optimal visualization of the content of the trays, even when several trays are used simultaneously. Some Teka models also include the possibility of switching off the light inside the oven, with the subsequent energy saving, turning the function selector to the symbol ”L. OFF”( Light/Light off) blinks in the display.

- Low emissive Glass:

The new S05 “Techno clean” door incorporates inner low emissive or thermoreflective glass, which reflect the heat of the cavity towards the interior of the oven, limiting the radiation of heat to the most accessible zones outside the door.

- Maxi Grill:

It has a much larger surface than the simple grill as well as a higher power rating of 2600 W, cooking food faster and more uniformly. The Maxi Grill or Grill function allows you to adapt the size of the grill to the food, allowing large or several pieces to be cooked at once.

- Meat probe:

A system which displays the temperature inside the piece cooked in the oven. The meat probe enables you to programme the oven according to the desired temperature inside the food, adjusting the heat generated to your taste (undercooked, well done, etc). When the roast reaches the temperature previously selected through the sensors (+/-), the oven switches off automatically and emits a beep. Thanks to the meat probe, you do not have to wait around to switch off the oven. Everything is controlled automatically, with the maximum precision.

- Memory function:

When accidentally or deliberately the cooking is interrupted in case of power cut for example and we want to continue in the point we left it, instead of programming again the oven, just select the “ M” control button and cooking starts again, with the same temperature parameters during the remaining time to end.

- Mix Chamber system:

The Mix Chamber system is the place where the cold air from outside and the hot air inside the oven’s cavity mix. The Mix Chamber system considerably reduces both the temperature of the air leaving the oven and the temperature of the handle and the front of the oven and the generation of condensation and odours. The mix chamber system forms part of the dynamic refrigeration or cooling system.

- Multifunction:

Food is heated from the upper, lower and back part of the oven and the fan spreads the heat coming from a dorsal heating element situated in the back part of the oven. It means food can be cooked at several heights at the same time without odours and flavours getting mixed. The turbo function is ideal to cook large roasts and since a better distribution of heat is achieved, it prevents over-cooking in one area and undercooking in another. The turbo function allows for a quicker roast and has a special function for pastries. Recommended temperature: 150º C-200º C except for meringues: 100ºC- 120º C.

- Multifunction ovens:

Multifunction ovens incorporate an inner fan. This way convection heating or hot air circulation is added to conventional heating. This makes these ovens faster than the static or radiation ovens and they consume less energy. Furthermore, Teka ovens have turbo function which accelerates and improves baking, since it provides a uniform heat, even when cooking simultaneously at various heights.

- Open chamber:

The security system of the models with the new S05-Techno Clean- inner door. The evacuation of the hot air accumulated in the door is made through the efrigeration system. This system reduces considerably the temperature outside the door.

- Pyrolytic cleaning:

A type of oven whose more important feature is that it does not require manual clearing. Pyrolytic Teka cleaning carbonises organic substances to temperatures of up to 500º C, turning all food residue into ashes which can easily be eliminated with a wet cloth when the oven cools. Teka pyrolytic ovens not only clean but also sterilise, eliminating all the viruses and bacteria which could develop. The inner walls are covered with a highly resistant enamel to withstand the high temperatures produced inside. User safety is guaranteed thanks to the triple glazed door and to the automatic block when the oven reaches 300º C. Teka’s pyrolytic ovens eliminate odours and fumes. Once activated, the cleaning cycle lasts approximately 90 minutes, although it can be programmed for up to 3 hours depending on the level of cleaning required. . We recommend cleaning in this way after every 6/8 uses of the oven. Before starting the programme we recommend taking out all the accessories from inside the oven to prevent them from getting harmed. Moreover, pyrolytic ovens are renowned for having low electricity consumption and the user does not have to worry about the cost of the cleaning. Each pyrolitic cycle consumes only 2.6 kwh.

- Pizza function:

This new function heats from the bottom and back of the oven, generating almost 3200 W of maximum nominal power with a fan for a better heat distribution (Bottom heating element + Turbo or Hot Air). This function is recommended for pizzas, puff pastries, pastries with filling, etc.

- Multi-function ovens:

Multifunction ovens are ones which control the hob. Teka offers a great range of multifunction ovens. They are always installed in combination with our hobs and can be combined both with vitroceramic hobs and electric, gas or mixed hobs.

- PCA System:

HX 860 has 13 automatic cooking recipes for meat, fishes, pastries, grating, bread and desserts. When choosing the desired recipe and introducing the weight of the food, the oven calculates automatically the time and the cooking temperature. If we cook with the traditional functions ( grill, turbo or defrost), the oven makes also an automatic proposal depending on the selected function.

- Pop in-up knobs:

The pop in-up knobs or flat hidden knobs improve the aesthetics of the oven, softening the front. They are more durable; make cleaning the control panel easier, eliminating protrusions and places of difficult access. They prevent the cooker being switched on accidentally since they can be hidden and they are protected from hot air. To release them, just press softly. Teka pop up knobs can be hidden in any position and not just in 0 position. They can be hidden during cooking for better cleaning.

- Preheating of the oven:

In HX 860 foods can be introduced in the oven from the beginning saving time and energy.

- Pull out carriage door:

A version of the pull out carriage door, developed by Teka which makes the most of the maximum of the capacity of the oven, with 7 useful levels, easily reachable, including an additional eighth level to collect drips while cooking on the grid. This system is characterized by its ease of use, even when the oven is installed in a column. The carriage door slides smoothly out of the oven when opening the door, without needing to press a button. When closing the door, the carriage slides inside. The carriage is easily dismountable and washable, leaving the oven uncluttered for easy cleaning. This system also makes it easier to check, remove etc. the contents of the tray, without the risk of contact with the heating elements or the inside of the oven door.

- Residual heat use:

The oven switches off some minutes before the end to take advantage of the residual heat and finish the cooking. This way we get an important saving of energy.

- Safety block:

Child safety block option is a device which prevents accidental modifications in the programming, mainly by children. If the child safety block is activated with the oven off, it can’t be switched on. If we activate this safety feature with any other function, altering the electronic or digital timer is blocked.

- Safety lock system:

When opening the door of the oven, the heating elements and the Turbo disconnect, avoiding the unnecessary consumption of energy while the door is open. It also means it’s more comfortable for you when checking the food. When the door is closed again, the oven carries on working according to the pre-set parameters. Models which incorporate this feature are easily recognisable because they incorporate a safety lock in the lower left part of the oven.

- Safety thermostat:

The safety thermostat, as a standard in all Teka ovens, cuts the main supply if unusually high temperatures are detected inside the oven.

- Static ovens:

In these models, heat is generated exclusively through radiation of the heating elements, situated in the upper heating element and in the lower heating element of the oven. The static ovens have 3 functions: Conventional (upper and lower heating element), Grill (just upper heating element) and Lower heating element (just lower).

- Telescopic tray guides:

The telescopic tray guide system allows you to pull out most of the tray (83%) easily and smoothly without the risk of spills in the kitchen. All the levels are easily accessible and the guides are easily dismountable and washable leaving the oven accessible for easy cleaning. It is a safe method as it makes checking the contents of the tray easier without the risk of contact with the heating elements or the inside of the oven door.
Furthermore, it is more comfortable and safer than other opening systems when the oven is more than 50 cm from the floor, in column or semi-column. Teka ovens have several telescopic tray guides evels depending on models:

a) 3 telescopic tray guides
b) 2 telescopic tray guides + 2 fixed
c) 1 telescopic tray guide+ 4 fixed

NOTE: Telescopic tray guides are clip-on. If one guide gets damaged or if one bearing fails, the user could buy just one guide instead of the whole set.

- Thermal insulation:

The thermal insulation of Teka ovens guarantees home safety. The number of connections between the oven and the outer surface which could conduct heat have been reduced to the minimum. Teka ovens have a cavity without joints to avoid heat losses or heat transfer to nearby pieces of furniture. The gap between the housing and the cavity has been increased to make it easier for cold air from outside to provide insulation. A new white thermal insulator without agglomerated particles and aluminium covered, which isolates more the heat. The special design of the oven means there is minimum heat transmission from the cavity to the outside, avoiding direct contact with the hotter zones of the oven with the outside. This way, the use of energy is optimised and the heat transferred to nearby furniture is lower.

- Timers:

Teka timers are stop programmers. Stop programmers which automatically switch off allow cooking for a certain time (programming of the cooking time), after which a beep sounds and the oven stops heating.

- Touch Control:

Type of programmer with a digital control panel, integrated in a flat, glass surface that cleans easily. Teka touch control programmers have a modern and attractive design which combines glass with the stainless steel of the oven. It is a control system of the appliance through sensors which are activated at the touch of a button, allowing you to select the different functions: Programming of length and end of cooking, delay programming, alarm, Child safety block, electronic control of temperature, luminous indicator of cooking function selected, indicator of temperature inside the oven indicator, residual heat indicator, etc.

- Tray handle:

A useful feature of Teka ovens, which allows you to pull the tray out of the oven easily, without having to touch any hot areas. Thanks to its great stability, they can be used to carry the tray to the table or to the worktop, regardless of the weight of the food being cooked. The tray handle has two positions: 1) With the short hook over the tray for the baking tray and 2) With the long hook over the tray for the deep enamelled tray.

- Trays:

Teka ovens have two types of enamelled trays: a) deep enamel tray and b) baking tray. Deep trays for roasts, fish and starters are 50 mm deep and are ideal to collect the juices when roasting on the grid. Teka baking trays are ideal for cakes, biscuits, pastries, etc and have a useful surface of 1421cm2, one of the largest you can buy.

Teka trays have a stop system which lets you to pull them out partially to check the food, without them tipping. At the rear part of the oven, the side walls have some stops to prevent the trays from touching the back wall. The gap facilitates better cooking since it allows hot air to circulate between the tray and the cavity.

- Turnspit:

The turnspit is an accessory of the Teka ovens which consists of a swivel or rotary motor, a support hook and a complete spit with handle which can easily be unscrewed. Grill or Maxi Grill can be used combined with the turnspit to brown larger meat pieces, as well as poultry, beef, lamb etc. We recommend placing the tray underneath to collect the juices and fat.
